According to Cointelegraph, Polkadot DAO has passed the referendum proposal No. 1710, and decided to limit the total supply of DOT tokens to 2.1 billion with an 81% approval rating. The proposal replaces the previous unlimited supply model of 120 million additional DOTs each year and will reduce inflation by gradually reducing the issuance of new DOTs every two years.
