Polkadot DAO sets the total DOT limit to 2.1 billion through proposal

According to ChainCatcher, Polkadot's Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) passed the referendum No. 1710 with an 81% approval rating, and decided to set the total supply cap of DOT tokens to 2.1 billion. The proposal will replace the previous model of fixed issuance of 120 million pieces per year without a total amount limit, and stipulate that the pace of issuance will be slowed down by gradually reducing the number of new issuances every two years in the future.
