Huobi HTX reported that two U.S. lawmakers who are pushing for severe sanctions against Russia said Saturday that they will urge their colleagues to vote this week with a tough sanctions bill against Russia that must be passed legislation that ensures the federal government operates. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham and Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick have been pushing for months a legislation that would impose sanctions on Russia as it refuses to negotiate a peace agreement with Ukraine, including secondary sanctions on countries that buy Russian oil. Because Trump is cautious about sanctions against Russia and prefers to impose tariffs on goods from India, leaders of the Senate and House of Representatives have not submitted the bill to vote so far. This must-pass government appropriations bill, known as the "continuing resolution" (CR), provides the proposal with a means to pass the bill.
