According to Cointelegraph, the Ethereum Foundation has released a privacy roadmap for the Ethereum network and renamed the "Privacy and Extension Exploration" program to "Ethereum Privacy Manager" (PSE). PSE plans to introduce privacy solutions at protocol, infrastructure, network, application and wallet levels. The goals for the next 3-6 months include private transfers, confidential voting and privacy in decentralized finance (DeFi) applications through the PlasmaFold Layer-2 network. The roadmap also proposes to explore private identity solutions through zero-knowledge proof (ZK). The U.S. government is considering regulating the crypto industry, including possible surveillance measures. Finance Minister Scott Bessent is exploring proposals to include government identity verification in smart contracts, sparking opposition from the crypto community. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin emphasized privacy as a basic human right, believing that transparency is more like a loophole in the digital age.
