Galaxy Digital head says the U.S. will announce strategic bitcoin reserves this year

U.S. lawmakers are pushing forward a strategic Bitcoin reserve plan, and Galaxy Digital's Alex Thorn predicts that it is likely to officially announce the plan this year. If approved, the reserve will hold between 120,000 and 160,000 bitcoins, which is expected to push the price of bitcoin to $200,000. Recent legislative progress includes the H.R. 5166 Act, which requires the Treasury Department to report federal Bitcoin holdings within 90 days. The United States has controlled about 198,000 seized bitcoins, becoming the largest state-level holder.
