According to foreign media reports, Tesla (TSLA.O) was accused of favoring visa holders rather than U.S. citizens in a lawsuit Friday in a lawsuit, in order to pay lower wages. Tesla violated federal civil rights laws by "systematically prioritizing" visa holders and dismissing U.S. citizens at a disproportionate frequency, according to a proposed class action lawsuit filed in federal court in San Francisco. The complaint says Tesla relies on H-1B work visa holders. For example, in 2024, the company hired about 1,355 visa holders and laid off more than 6,000 employees in the United States, with the "overwhelming majority" of whom are considered US citizens. The lawsuit seeks to claim compensation for all U.S. citizens who have applied for a Tesla position in the United States but have not been hired, or have been fired after working with Tesla. (Jin Shi)
