ModStealer malware targets cryptocurrency users, mainstream antivirus tools fail to detect

According to Wu, security company Mosyle disclosed that the new malware ModStealer is attacking cryptocurrency users, affecting platforms including macOS, Windows and Linux. Researchers pointed out that after the malware was uploaded to VirusTotal, it has not been detected by mainstream antivirus tools in the past month. Mosyle says ModStealer is designed specifically to steal private keys, certificates, credential files and browser wallet data, and its code targets 56 wallet extensions on Safari and Chromium browsers.
