Huobi HTX reported that the Massachusetts District Attorney's Office has filed a civil confiscation lawsuit seeking to recover about $584,700 in Tether (USDT) stablecoins, which belong to an Iranian national who provides technology to the Iranian military. According to the Justice Department, three U.S. military personnel were killed in a military base in northern Jordan in January 2024, and subsequent analysis showed that the Iranian Shahed drone using SDRA's Sepehr navigation system was the culprit. Abedini is accused of providing material support to foreign terrorist organizations and causing death, as well as conspiring to procure sensitive U.S. technology for military drones.
