TD Securities: If the Fed is cautious about rate cuts, the dollar may rise

Source: golden
Golden Finance reported that the Dollar strategist said in a report that if the Fed cut interest rates by 25 basis points next week, but is cautious about further interest rate cuts, the dollar should rise. They said markets are expected to cut interest rates continuously as concerns about economic growth become crucial. However, the Fed may curb these expectations, highlighting potential inflation risks. "Powell could signal that the Fed is not on the road to a predetermined rate cut and will continue to monitor upcoming data to assess risks." This will boost the dollar. However, they said the dollar will still fall in the long run and any rebound is a good opportunity to sell.
