According to Golden Finance, Starknet posted a statement on social platforms that BTC staking will be launched on the main network on September 30. This upgrade will allow Bitcoin holders to pledge on Starknet to help ensure network security and receive rewards. The online parameters are as follows: BTC pledge weight is set to 0.25 (BTC=25% consensus weight, STRK accounts for the remaining 75%). When online, WBTC, LBTC, tBTC and SolvBTC are supported. Other BTC packaging assets can be added through governance. In addition, the unsealing cycle will be shortened from 21 days to 7 days, allowing the pledger and principal to operate faster and more flexibly. To enable this upgrade, the staking contract will be suspended for several hours at around 10:00 am on September 15 (GMT3) to integrate the BTC staking mechanism into Starknet. Once the upgrade is complete, validators and builders can deploy the BTC delegate pool and start integrating with the protocol, and the rewards will be distributed starting on September 30.
