Albania launches AI politician Diella to fight corruption

According to Cointelegraph, the Albanian government launched Diella, an AI virtual assistant, becoming the world's first AI politician. Diella's mission is to supervise government procurement and keep the country free of corruption. Diella previously served as a virtual assistant on the e-Albania platform to help citizens obtain driver's licenses, pension applications and other documents, and has issued more than 36,600 digital documents and provided nearly 1,000 services. Albania has been more inclined toward AI than cryptocurrencies in recent years, and despite a crypto regulatory framework established in 2020, the central bank still warns of crypto trading risks. Corruption has long plagued Albania and hindered its accession to the EU. Prime Minister Rama hopes to achieve EU membership by 2030.
