Brazil's Supreme Court confirms no leader can overtake the law

Brazil's Supreme Federal Court ruled that former President Jair Bolsonaro should be held responsible for the inciting attacks on Congress, the Senate and the Presidential Palace in January 2023. The court found him inciting violence and obstructing the rule of law through public speech and social media. While he is still eligible for the 2026 election, the ruling forced his assets to be seized and added legal uncertainty to his political future.
