Huobi HTX reported that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said that the US economy is showing some signs of pressure after years of resilience, domestic demand is slowing and employment growth is slowing. IMF spokesman Julie Kozak said Thursday that inflation is moving towards the Fed's 2% target, but there are still some risks that may push up inflation, mainly from the Trump administration's tariffs on imported goods. She noted that the downward revision of employment data released by the United States earlier this week was "slightly larger than the historical average." IMF staff will work with U.S. officials to evaluate the data and its revisions during a routine review of the U.S. economy in November.
