Vitalik: The account abstraction is still incomplete at present, so beware of excessive dependence on intermediaries

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said on account abstraction, “We still don’t have a complete account abstraction. It is impossible to trade from an account without using ECDSA verification unless it is passed (intermediary dependency is harmful to privacy and censorship resistance and is often harmful to the right to do things without permission). For example, if your account does not rely on an intermediary for transactions, you cannot achieve quantum security; you cannot create a privacy protocol that does not depend on a (fragile) public broadcast ecosystem. There is really a lot of challenging work to do to do this. I just hope we don’t get stuck in a higher level of intermediary dependency before that, which has become the norm.”
