PANews reported on September 11 that according to The Block, crypto exchange Kraken is launching new product perpetual contracts (perpetuals). It is reported that as the exchange prepares for its public listing as early as the first quarter of 2026, perpetual contracts have become its latest product expansion initiative. The Kraken perpetual contract will be launched on Thursday in a specific jurisdiction for eligible customers, a futures contract that allows traders to make "high certainty" bets on future events.
Kraken notes that its perpetual contract has some "built-in protections" including a stop loss feature that limits potential downside losses if "market trends are the opposite of what you predict." At the beginning of the launch, traders will be able to use their Kraken USD balance as collateral and will support other assets in the future.
