Senior lawyer returns to the US SEC to take charge of IPO and information disclosure review departments

The SEC said that Gibson Law Firm partner James Moloney will serve as head of the SEC's corporate financing department from next month. Moloni worked at the SEC from 1994 to 2000, and was responsible for mergers and acquisitions affairs and related work in the company's financing department. The company's financing department is responsible for reviewing the financial reports submitted by the company to ensure that the company fully discloses potential risks to investors. The department also issues guidelines on how to comply with SEC rules, such as executive compensation disclosures, or reporting requirements for non-GAAP earnings metrics.
