According to BlockBeats, on September 10, Wall Street Journal reporter Nick Timiraos said that U.S. federal judge Jia Cobb temporarily blocked Trump from removing Fed Director Cook. The court will issue an injunction directing Powell and the Council to allow Cook to continue serving as a member of the Council during the lawsuit. This means Cook can vote at next week's FOMC meeting unless the higher court overturns the restriction order.
However, Jia Cobb's preliminary ruling did not address whether the Trump administration's claim that Cook's alleged mortgage fraud constituted a reason for dismissal before taking office. The case is expected to be submitted to the U.S. Supreme Court for trial.
