CoreWeave launches venture capital division focused on early stage AI startups

PANews September 9th news, CoreWeave (CRWV) announced that it will set up a venture capital division focusing on early stage artificial intelligence startups. The new fund is called CoreWeave Ventures, which will focus on investing in startups that develop artificial intelligence tools, infrastructure or applications. The company did not disclose how much money it would invest, but saw the move as an extension of its broader mission of supporting machine learning and generative artificial intelligence high-performance computing. Previously, CoreWeave is acquiring Bitcoin mining company Core Scientific (CORZ) for a $9 billion all-stock transaction. The merger was announced in July and is still subject to approval from shareholders and regulatory authorities.
