DoorDash CEO Tony Xu stressed the complexity of merger execution and the importance of cultural coordination, as reflected in the 2021 acquisition of Wolt. The company continues to expand aggressively, with recent deals including SevenRooms ($1.2 billion), Symbiosys ($175 million) and its upcoming acquisition of Deliveroo for $3.9 billion. In addition to mergers and acquisitions, DoorDash also invests in automated delivery and artificial intelligence, and works with companies such as Coco Robotics and Alphabet-owned Wing. Diversified retail business helped DoorDash achieve revenue of US$3.28 billion in the second quarter of 2025, a year-on-year increase of 25%, with orders reaching 761 million. The new overnight delivery partnership with Waffle House is designed to enhance the customer experience.
