According to ChainCatcher, the U.S. Currency Complaints Agency (OCC) announced on Monday that it would take steps to eliminate the so-called "debanization" phenomenon, responding to calls from industry groups and Republicans to end the deemed unfair practice. “The OCC is taking steps to end the weaponization of the financial system,” said Jonathan Gould, head of the OCC, adding that institutions will work to eradicate banks’ illegal discrimination against customers based on political or religious beliefs.
