Stripe and Paradim build blockchains that connect cryptocurrencies and mainstream finance

Stripe and Paradigm have launched Tempo, a brand new Layer-1 blockchain optimized for stablecoin payments and actual financial use cases. Developed by partners such as Anthropic, OpenAI and Visa, Tempo pays for Gas using stablecoins instead of native tokens, aiming to reduce costs and complexity. The blockchain’s target applications include global payments, payroll, remittances and AI-powered transactions. Tempo is led by Paradigm’s Matt Huang, operating as an independent company, reflects Stripe’s growing emphasis on crypto infrastructure amid the context of regulators’ increased support for stablecoins.
