Upbit's new blockchain aims to lead the wave of innovation

Upbit Exchange, one of South Korea's largest cryptocurrency platforms, is developing a new blockchain protocol called "Giwa" that aims to prioritize privacy, scalability and energy efficiency. The hybrid consensus mechanism is designed to reduce energy consumption while maintaining high transaction throughput, making it a potential competitor to Ethereum. The public test network is scheduled to be launched in the first half of next year.
